A take on a classic pattern.
I was playing with rusty spinners as a spinner pattern for the PMD swap.
Hook: #16 Knapek wet
Thread: griffith's 14/0 claret
Tail: coq del leon fibers light dun
Rib: Pearsall's silk thread, primrose
Body: mole, rusty brown
Hackle: genetic hen, light dun

Very sweet tie, would be of use here when we have a spinner fall as most of them are a red mahogany colour once ritual has been dispensed with and they fall from grace. Before that they are just a dull old everyday brown tone.

Thanks Jeff.
It is interesting how so many species of insects take on that color once they have done their business.

Very cool how the colours of the fly are also "reflected" in the chosen pet rock photographic background.

This is a nice combination. I'd like to see the rest of your trials for the swap.
