Grouse and grey s/h

This is tied on a size 14 Mustad 7957BX hook; tail and hackle are sharptail grouse, body is muskrat, thread is Benecchi 12/0 in grey.

Can't go wrong there John. Sharptail has some great feathers that can make a good woodcock sub.

Thanks for the kind words. I photographed this indoors and I see I am getting the orange cast again. I checked the AWB on my camera and it is set on auto. I had planned also to photograph this outdoors, but have not got around to it yet. I plan to go fishing tomorrow and want to test this and a few other flies out.

John, I like the fly very much. I see what you mean about the cast. I would of never known it had gray thread, if I hadn't of read the recipe. You used great materials, and that fly will catch you some fish, no doubt about it! :D

Thanks Kelly. Yes, it is definitely much grayer in person (kind of like me). ;)
