Golden Grouse

Post by Old Hat » Thu Jul 11, 2013 1:27 am

A bright little spider. I was playing with some lighter wire hooks that I have come to really like. Great little Tenkara style hooks as well as for spiders.

Hook: Owner Mosquito hook #14
Thread: Gold silk
Hackle: English Grouse
Head: Peacock dyed gold

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

That's a beauty!

You can get it in all kinds of colors now. Even "UV" colors. There are a couple companies offering it but Spirit River seems to have the greatest selection. My favorite is actually peacock dyed dun.

It tells you what year I last bought peacock. I might be living in the last millenium.

Carl, that spider is beaming. The brightness of the gold and the sure if the peacock make for a very rich combo. It won't go unnoticed and I like these hooks.
