Hackle: Upper covert from poult (immature) English grouse
Rib: Flat gold mylar tinsel, X-small
Body: Clark block brush, natural hares ear in jasper silk

Thank you Bob and Ray (remember the old comedy team ...?). The poult feather is from a pair of wings in a bag with a Cookshill label, so they probably did come from G.F.

Ha, that's the flymph equivalent of 25-year old Macallan single malt.
A question, though: do you brush out the dubbing brush before and/or after wrapping the rib?

Remember when old folks used to reference comedy teams?
Bill, this is just what I an looking for in most of my flies. Wish they were as clean as this. I love this pattern.

Jon ~ On this particular fly, I did not literally brush out the dubbing. I did, however, run a fingernail up the body after wrapping the rib and before wrapping the hackle.
