Now that is a very interesting body, rest of the fly aint too shabby either, but for many a year folks that tie flies have been happy with the colour of bronze Mallard as supplied by the donor duck- an interesting variation to dye it into a new (new to me anyway) material.
Did you dye it yourself, or is it supplied by that same fellow that sells "hair" from the "little people" used for Green Peters?

Lawrence Finney (http://www.finneysflies.com/) dyed feathers. I fibbed a little calling it bronze mallard - it is in fact flank feathers from a silver mallard. Funcionally/visually identical to more conventional/available bronze mallard from a 'plain' mallard drake , esp in a dyed version.

Hans ~ I've noticed this on other patterns you've posted and have decided to ask about the fine gold wire used as ribbing. On my monitor it appears to be flattened as opposed to the round wire I am used to seeing. Is this just an illusion?

Well spotted! It is wire from an old Veniard spool, which has flattened sections to provide a subtle glint. I refer to it as faceted wire:
