Hook - #12 (found it on the floor, I'll get this room cleaned yet)
Thread - Brown 6/0
Body - Pheasant tail, brown
Rib - Fine gold wire
Thorax - Wapsi Super Bright Steelhead Dubbing, Fl. Yellow (found under coffee cup)
Hackle - Furnace Hen, Golden Olive (This was the only material that was where it should be)

Rodger, I'm assuming the steelhead hot spot dubbing is colorfast and will remain quite an eye catcher. this is a great construction. Should work out very well. I've done well with your hot spot patterns that you've sent over the years. This will no doubt be a great fly.

Thanks, W.
Yes, these stand out like a sore thumb in the flybox next to the Hare' Ear nymphs, and the more "Earthy" toned patterns.

Just noticed this is my 1,000th post here. Think I'll have an extra 'tater chip at lunch!

Very well conceived pattern Roger. The materials work nicely together. I like the looks of it and the fish should key in nicely on the hotspot. Hotspots are one of those hit and miss additions. When the fish want them you can't keep them off, then there are those days where I feel like it is sending the fish fleeing. This looks like a great grannom pattern.

I have never really been brave enough to fish hot-spot patterns. After seeing this one, I might have to change my mind.
Nice work and that looks to be a combination that will really work.
