For a natural, drab color combination, the Smokey silk is hard to beat. I haven't fished it yet, but it's a spider....I just expect good things.

Tom, my memory fails me, but if I'm not mistaken (someone please jump in for clarification) the line of Langley silks will be replacing the existing Pearsalls line-up. I believe the colors you love will be available, under a new name and color number and there will be a number of new colors to add to the list. There seems to be an adequate stock of existing Pearsalls silk, I'm not sure that's accurate. There is a great thread on this topic (I'm not punny and didn't intend that) but I haven't searched for the link. Maybe someone will have some updated information on the matter.

Love patterns with "earthy", muted colors. Very nicely executed, William.
I have to agree with the comparison to Pearsall's Ash color. It will be interesting to see what new colors
will be available from Langley. Candy Apple Red?

I have a Kinkame silk of a similar colour, may be slightly more grey in tone. I have not used it much...... may have to give it a try.

Bummer, I was expecting to see some bear dubbing.

Just kidding of course. Interesting silk color. I like the ash color, don't care for the grey Pearsall's offers although it is nice once worked over with a dark cobbler's wax. I have tried some of the new Langley greens. Didn't really like any yet. Fun to see some of the new colors though. This color appears more tan in the photo. Is this correct or is it more of a gray.

Thanks Bill for that link. That is very helpful. I wonder about the back supply of Pearsalls now.

The Smokey color is actually a more donnish tan, or smokey mushroom. Is that helpful? When wet it's a little darker than Ash silk. It looks to me like most of the Langley colors have gaudy fly tiers and rod-builders in mind, but there is plenty there for the NCS crowd.
