Body - Uni-Yarn, Insect Green, split, w/Peacock Green Antron dubbing mixture
Hackle - Golden Olive Hen

I feel a bit silly. Splitting yarn never occurred to me. It looks fantastic. The hackle and head are perfect. You are a fine tyer sir.

Thanks. The Uni-Yarn is only 2 strands, and the diameter is big enough to easily split. I very rarely split thread cuz I usually can't hold the needle steady enough, but this stuff is easy to split.Now I've got to see what other colors I have hidden around here.

I am going to try and adapt your technique for the abdomen to my High Water Caddis/Stone . I am thinking Green yarn, and Chocolate Hares Ear. I tie them in sizes 8 and 6
I am pondering a Hydropsychidae pattern as well, which I think your Mean Green might already imitate.

Rodger, the split yarn technique looks fantastic for this caddis pattern. Makes a very cool impression.
