Hook: #8 TMC 2312
Thread: Olive UNI 8/0
Tail: Chickabou taken from the base of an olive grizzly hen hackle
Rib: Chartreuse wire
Body: 50/50 mix of olive hare mask & sulfur-yellow Wapsi superfine dubbing
Back/tailing: 3 strands of olive/pearl midge flash -- tie in ahead of abdomen & pulled back while over-winding rib, before dubbing a short thorax
Hackle: Olive grizzly hen
Head: A couple turns of dubbing

Thanks Ray. It is a good pattern. The basic design has been a staple of lake anglers in my region since before my time. Fenton Roskelly's Sand Fly Nymph comes to mind, & old-timers were using damsel versions similar to this, & an all black version, the old Black Leech, in the early '70's, & versions of these are still popular & productive.

Very sexy and nicely displayed. I can imagine smallies fighting over this.

Yeah, I could have used a few of these this morning. The smallies would have hammered this pattern.
Steve - When I first looked at this fly, I immediately thought this would be a great stillwater pattern.

This version works good on local trout, & great for bluegill, though I've not tried it on smallies. But it does look smallie-ish doesn't it.
