I think I did not see your fly before. I just tie some flies with opossum because I saw it on the site of FDF ( a webshop in holland). They sell allso the sprite hooks. The only thing is that you have to bend the eye of the hook straight.
Thanks for the nice words.

RUARD,
I REALLY LIKE THE "BUGGY" LOOK THAT THIS (AND MARKS PATTERN TOO) PATTERN HAS. THE COLOR IS REALLY RIGHT FOR WHERE I FISH. THIS OF COURSE IS JUST MY OPINION. THE FISH WILL BE THE ULTIMATE JUDGE. THIS IS THE TYPE OF PATTERN I LIKE TO HAVE ON WHEN THE CADDIS START TO WING THEIR WAY ACROSS THE WATER.....AT LIGHTNING SPEED!!
A GREAT PATTERN AND I HOPE YOU WILL DO MORE OF THEM IN THE NEAR FUTURE! WE WILL BE WATCHING AND WAITING!

Did you know,
The true term for the body material should be 'Possum'. to my knowledge there is no 'opossum' in Australia or New Zealand (The Possum being a native animal to Australia only). It seems to get marketed as 'opossum' in the Northern Hemisphere.
Now here is a tip is you can get hold of some natural fur still on the skin.
Take a clump of fur and hold it by the points. Gently pull the under fur out of the clump. Don't discard this as it is still great dubbing material. You can now tie the clump onto your hook by the tips (make sure that you only leave about 1 cm of the butt end sticking out the rear). Tie any nymph pattern or soft hackle pattern yo might want.
Once the fly is finished it is time to shape the butt section. Take a pair of sharp scissors and trim it into a cone.
You now have a realistic shuck for any emerger because of the air trapping quality of the fur.
I have used this with effect on flymphs and caddis imitations.
