Hans - The dubbing blend is very interesting. Polar bear under fur has such a nice translucent sparkle to it. Seems like it would give the body a nice twinkle when it is soaked with water. Does the hackle have a bit of blue iridescence to it?
Dandy fly, and as creative as ever.

Yes on blue cast on the magpie barbs.
You can see it better on this fly, wing out of the same actual feather I used on the Sooty Magpie

Note: I noticed this magpie feather lying on the pavement, and it just called out to me to pick her up...

Hans, good thing you live so far away from me, I would have to raid your fly tying supplies.
That's a beautiful fly too.
