Mashed Potato Caddis
Hook: Mustad 94840 or standard dry fly # 16-18
Thread: Tan Uni Thread 8/0
Hackle: White hen or very pale dun - one side of fibers removed-wrapped through the thorax.
Abdomen: Hare's Ear dubbing dubbed to the thread, roughed up with a small wire brush.
Throrax: Hare's Ear dubbing dubbed to thread.
This fly was tied for fishing in the surface or just below when small spent caddis flies are on the surface. The hackle is suppose to represent the wings.

Very nice, I use a very similar pattern (only difference is I use golden olive in the thorax) here in colorado and it slaughters almost year round.

See what you get when you tye while your hungry...
Great looking pattern, Mark. The color should cover lots of different hatches.
