Buffalo Plaid
Buffalo Plaid
Hook: Standard Wet Fly #12-16
Thread: Black Uni Thread 8/0
Hackle: Dyed Red Grizzly hen
Body: Overlapped rabbit dubbing-red toward tail, black toward front-on red silk done by the Leisenring method.
This makes a nice attractor fly for fall fishing. In my opinion, Grizzly hen is overlooked as a great soft-hackle feather.

Re: Buffalo Plaid
That is a great looking fly, especially the bi-colored Leisenring loop. Thanks for posting these last few. They are a pleasure to see.

Hi Nick,
Here's how Leisenring did it:

You can also use the dubbing block created by Leisenring's student, Dick Clark.
