Rib: Mixture of clear antron; mole, natural; mole, dyed cinnamon - inserted into split thread
Thorax: Touching turns of the ribbing twist

The former

My flies folder would have objected in the event of duplication. I have a number of patterns which start with Purple, and a few with Haze in the name, but not in this combination.

As an aside, I have updated my section on Flytier's Page these past couple days adding over 300( ) patterns (as part of clearing my page update backlog effort) - perhaps worth a look/see...

Must be something in the air. I was struck by the purple bug this weekend and tied two purple flies with purple silk dubbing.

Holy cow! what a great collection of flies, Hans. This one is a great addition to them.

This is a great example of how the partridge might be the greatest soft-hackle hackle ever. That is spot on. I know it has everything to do with feather selection from a particular skin, but patridges are just hard to beat. (woodcock too. and grouse. well its hard to say really)
