This is tied on a 14, but I also tie it on a 16 or 18 and put it on a dropper with a klink or something on the point, and it often picks up business.

Again, as always, constructive criticism welcomed! :)

Basic black. Well dressed and well done. It's a beauty! The silver rib is a nice touch!

Very nice. Sometimes use something similar down here on a #16 with a burgundy body and gold rib with French Partridge hackle, six or so inches under a parachute mayfly in the later season.

And yes, did notice the "U". Rest assured in New Zealand we know how to spell certain words - unlike those uncouth Aussies across the ditch ...... :D

Hi Roy,
Love to say hand, but, erm... vice.

My few attempts at hand tying have been confined to Stewart's Black spider - and after doing so, I have a theory why the body is so short. If you have ever tried it (and I am sure that you have) you have to grip the hook in one hand by the first finger and thumb at the hook bend, and so the body has to be so short out of necessity!

Can give you terrible finger cramp too - But for some bizarre reason, I found it very satisfying to get anything resembling a fly out of doing so.

I will find it even more satisfying to catch a fish on it. ;) Roll on the season! :)
