Pip
Hook: Mustad 94840 #18
Thread: Red 8/0 Uni-thread
Ribbing: Fine green wire
Abdomen: Two peacock herls, twisted and wrapped.
Hackle: Whiting Brahma Hen, Light Dun wrapped through the thorax.
Thorax: Dark brown rabbit dubbing.

I've been trying to unwind, so I thought I'd wind a few after a long week of trials and tribulations. I though this might make a good midge or small gnat imitation.

Nice fly! Should also be a hit when dark caddis are underwater egglaying. I might have to tie some up to put in my box next to the Starling and Herl.;)

Outstanding pattern, Mark. Looks like a "capital killer", as they used to say.

Mark...great pattern. I'm fond of the open hackle wraps in flymphs. This is just a great combo.

Dang Mark! Beautiful pattern. I hope it made you feel better because we all are excited about it! Do you find that you tie better under stress? I know that some people do and some don't. I don't . I like things calm and quiet not only in the den but in my life as well. Prodedures and materials just seem to flow better toward the hook.

Hi Doug,
Tying helps me relax. It does not add to the stress, and I've never tied under stress, even when I've done demos. It usually takes my mind off my problems and focus on fishing. This in itself is relaxing. :)
