that looks quite tricky to tie...

Been looking at it and for me, what makes it look so striking, at least to the human eye, is the way the angle of the barb of the body hackle is opposed to the angle of the ribbing. I can't quite get my head around how you would practically tie that at the moment, I am blaming a glass of whiskey for that, but it does look very effective!

I am researching Derbyshire Bumbles at the moment, as it happens, so this fly really caught my eye!

Body hackle is wrapped eye to bend, tip trapped by the wire and ribbing spiraled back towards eye.
