Re: Olive Spider
Even with all that twisting, Carl, the fly has that classic soft-hackle look and appeal.

We have to decline, a little too close to another show for the financially challenged.

Re: Olive Spider
i understand REE.....it's not like you live right next door to Albany. And Albany is two weeks before Lewiston i think. Sowbug is the very week before Lewiston.....we'll have 4 days hard driving to get there in time. Gotta head out the very next morning (early), after tyin' at the "Bug" for the previous 3 days. Re: Olive Spider
carl, the result of the twist is very buggy. Did you like tying using this technique? It's a change of pace for sure. Nicely done.

Re: Olive Spider
Thanks again all. I enjoy twisting these together. I think it surely strengthens the tie and makes quick work of the fly. I have used the twist before as I tie all the Stewart's spiders by twisting the thread and hackle together then wrapping back ant tying off at the rear of the hackle. It's not much more difficult to add the peacock herl to the mix.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.
