Hook: Daiichi 1530, #14
Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer, Primrose, very well waxed
Hackle: Greenwell hen
Rib: Fine gold wire
Tail: Greenwell hackle fibers
Body: Thread

Question: why does one "Very well waxed" the thread if for one, the fly is meant to sink, and two, if there is no dubbing involved? Just curious.............
Over the years i've only used wax for dry flies.....and now use floatant instead. Although i still use wax occassionally when using a dubbing loop for steelhead/salmon fishing flies, or artistics.
Is this just a Pearsall's "thing." Is it no good wiffout wax? Tkx. :)

Can you explain how the fly is tied in the style of Alice Conba ? It just looks like a standard hackled Greenwell to me.
