Ginger Dun & Gray Herl

Post by tie2fish » Sat Feb 05, 2011 3:31 pm

We get some gray-bodied caddis on the Gunpowder sometimes that I'm hoping this will resemble ...

Hook: Daiichi 1550, #14
Thread: Sheer 14/0, light gray
Hackle: Ginger dun hen cape
Rib: Gold wire, X-Fine
Body: Peacock eyestick herl, bleached and dyed muskrat gray

This photo lost.

Simple and pretty. A combination that can't be beat.

I am loving the bleached & dyed herl bodies. This fly looks to be, as they used to say, "a capital killer"
