A very beautiful fly, but I don't think the fish see it in that wet fashion.
It should be photographed under-water, in a glass tank?
The fly would not be compressed in the water.

Ha, good point...usually after a tying session I'll submerge a few in a glass jar to see how the colors "wet out" so your observation is well taken. :) (And yes, my wife does think I'm nuts.) One thing I do like about Mr. William's pattern, though, is how the wire-brush thorax looks when wet...it's a neat effect.
