Great patterns for scuds. The "Partridge and Orange" and the "Partridge and Yellow" work well for scuds. Dubbed patterns like yours will usually work better. Better still if you brush the dubbing out in the right way, this is an example using hare's ear, but you get the drift;

and better still if you dress them "Stewart Style" with a semi-palmered hackle. Just palmer the partridge or whatever over the dubbing.

More complex stuff but similar;

WAY COOL.....TKX. Mike..... :) We got a Tye-In this morning at 9 a.m. Our quarterly NAFF Tye-In. We're gonna devote this one to doin' flies for Casting for Recovery, Reel Recovery, and Project Healing Waters. And if we have any flies left over, they'll go in the boxes for the kids who check out tackle to fish with from the library. That's another NAFF project.....we provided all that stuff (rod/reel/line/leader/flies), so kids could get it out of the library and use it. ;)
