Hook: Daiichi 1120, #14
Thread: Underbody - Sulky Sliver Metallic, #8001 silver; Finishing - Sheer 14/0, olive
Thorax: Toho 6/0 "E" bead, light olive/silver
Abdomen: Chartreuse midge tubing with pearl Krystal Flash inserted
Transition cuff: (I just made that term up :) ) Peacock eyestick herl dyed Caddis Green
Hackle: Greenwell hen saddle

Simply amazing! The color transitions from one end to the other blend well and that Greenwell hackle....Wow! Please keep them coming!

That's not greenwell hen, it looks like partridge, and the cuff doesn't look like peacock herl either. Have you got the right fly there?

Also, the "cuff" material you are questioning is indeed peacock herl, marketed in the US by Nature's Spirit as Bleached and Dyed Peacock Sticks, specifically No. 20 Caddis Green. They offer this product in several colors, all of which are quite nice.

Bill, a nice tie as always and I'm loving thee exploration of techniques and materials. These are great. I can see from the eye stick that you tied one practice fly and then this one, then pic time. You know it takes me a dozen before I hit one that's photogenic. (smiley).

Well, thanks folks, but after reviewing the jumble of materials on my tying table and looking at the notes I made for PM's to Ray and Mark R., I must issue a public apology to everyone and to Mike in particular -- the hackle collar on this fly is indeed dyed partridge, and not the Greenwell hen I ignorantly insisted it was :oops: .
