Just so everybody knows I am not "cheating" or stealing images or anything like that, here is a photo of that setup. I just did this quickly in order to examine and photograph these bugs for my records.

Hardcore? I thought that was pornography not microphotography ! :)

If you want to know some things you have to have the set up to find them out. It's also very interesting of course! :)

What kind of a guy has the $$$$ for this kind of set up? OMG this is so awesome!!!! If only.... I'd be looking at everything. Love it. So the mic is hooked up to the big screen and bingo... instantaneous! You are a curious man after my own heart.

It's not actually all that expensive. You can do most things with a USB microscope like the ones in the link below and a normal computer and screen. You just plug in to a USB port. Although with these things you really need to know exactly what you want to use it for and how much you are prepared to pay. Here's a selection of readily available scopes, it's best to read the reviews carefully;

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_nos ... pe&x=0&y=0

Of course the cheaper USB microscopes wont have the quality of various high end instruments, but they work fine for looking at insects, feathers, etc .

The screen I use for this is a Dell U3011 running at maximum resolution, 2560 X 1600 pixels. ( the graphic card in your machine must be able to support it!), I do a lot of stuff with images and things like that so I need the big screen. The second monitor is a Samsung Syncmaster T260 running at 1920 X 1200 pixels.

Oops gave you the UK Amazon links, here are some USA links;

Be careful, some of these are sold at rip off prices. The QX5 Digital Blue only costs about 40 dollars at Amazon UK It costs up to 400 Dollars at Amazon USA. Don't ask me why, I don'*t know.

Dang, here I thought I was done spending money. A digital microscope looks like some I just gotta have though. Didn't even know they were available. Thanks again, Mike.

Don't have a credit card, don't owe money. Is that un-american?
