Hank - The term "MOM" in this case is short hand for Mary Orvis Marbury (see links below), who is famous for the book she published called "Favorite Flies and Their Histories" (originally published in 1892).

A simply lovely fly, Carl.

on the steep side of the learning curve. It is getting flatter, some ....... (chuckle, chuckle).

hank, your welcome.....i hadn't even noticed tha Ray had already filled you in, and that you had thanked him, when i replied to your ? But anyway, Bill (t2f) has just posted a KILLER MOM over at my site.....you outta check it out. Again, i haven't investigated what info Ray gave you, so at the risk of redundantcy, here's what i told you i'd give you. The full title of the book is, Favorite Flies And Their Histories. It has 32 color plates, quite a few black & white illustrations, and is published by, The Wellfleet Press. My copy was $24 but that was a number of years ago, i got it at the Somerset show in the late 90's if i remember right. ;)

Took a little peek at Ray's reply........and dig. Not only are Lee & Mike both PHENOMINAL tyers, they're both two of the nicest "True" gentelman in all the world. 8-)
