Vicki, with the O'Hare, made the fur collar in split thread, here is an alternative - bunch of guard hair tied tips over the eye. I give you... Harequin 8-)

hans, Howdy;

You never cease to amaze me.

When you discribed this yousaid you tied the hackle in with "tips over the eye", so,
I'm guessing you folded them back then tied them down (set them), at the angle that
you wanted them to remain at..... ????

And again for the Auburn Rat ????

Thanks,

hank

Correct. Times two.

Btw - I note I called it wrong on Vicki's fly - not split thread but dubbing look. Same effect, though.

Hans (and Vicki), really beautiful flies, and conversation. Can you tell us more about this hare guard hair? How did you obtain it?

Lance,

Both Vicki and I were at the receiving end of Ruard's generosity - he provided me with a nice rectangle of "Dutch Hare" pelt.
