Thanks, Hans.
Much useful information in a few words, as usual.
For whatever it may be worth. Hidy's felt-paged fly wallet never showed the slightest indication of fostering rust. Pete dried his flies before putting them away. Leisenring used the soft leather-bound, felt-paged wallets as well, as described by Pete. But for barbless hooks, they are clearly not to be recommended.

William, sorry for going-off topic again!

Lance, since your new here.........that was bout as far away as anything culd ever be, to going off topic............and going off topic, as long as respectful (which you obviously exercise very well), and pertinant, is encouraged here. We NEVER discourage train of thought, as long as proceeded with forthought.............you dig?

William, i gotta tell ya Bro. Your tying, dedication to the craft, pure skils, and personal style, are always impressing, and continue to impress me greatly. You are one sincere dude, when it comes to all things fly fishing and tying. Very very admirable......
i've begun looking through all my old rods, to come up ith something appropriate to give you. i want it to be old, hopefully with an action your like, but aso something you'll want to put perhaps some work into to make it even MO Better. :D Nothin' broken mind you.....just somethin' you'll have a lotta fun playin' with by kinna customizin' it. After seein' all those cool pics of different rods you've already put your indelable mark on........i just hadda find one outta my stash your could enjoy for years to come.
If you have any special request in terms of length, action or weight (if i can), i'll try my best to come close as possible. i'm given rods away at a pretty good clip lately, so don't snooze.
All the flies are wonderful.....but that first one is SMASHING! :D You can never beat anything off a Hare.....but i really LOVE that stuff Ruard has sent us. ;)

Mark R, you have always demonstrated kindness and generosity to a fault, especially from what I've seen with this group, even when you were not put in a position of doing it in light of....circumstances. :| I sincerely appreciate your giving nature and very much appreciate you thinking of me in wanting to pass on a cool old rod that needs some love. I would be very honored. Thank you. And thanks so much for the kind words. The encouragement is appreciated as well.

GD, the best conversations in these threads are usually far from the topic on pages 3 and 4, so no harm in my book. I would like to take up a couple of topics in an new thread in the Fishing section. I wanted to respond a while ago and have not had a free moment. Hans' comments about the wallets being "rust buckets" furthers the other discussions. :D
