That's a great color combination.

A question: is there any consensus about how cock ringneck pheasant behaves in current compared to other common soft hackles? I've always had the impression that it was a bit stiffer, but I've yet to use the feathers from the bird I recently purchased.

CB - I think ringneck pheasant fathers are an underrated material for wingless and winged wets.

Yes, I've got a black phase skin that's got a lot of neat feathers on it. BTW, great looking fly--I've got a theory that if folks are using "glassy" hen hackle for their mayfly flymphs/emergers, ringtail and plover more closely resemble caddis wings...but until Mike C. gets his gonioreflectometer built that will have to remain in the realm of conjecture.
