Body hackle: Whiting Coq de Leon neck hackle, dark pardo
Rib: Copper wire, dark
Tail: Golden pheasant tippets, dyed hot orange
Abdomen: UV Ice Dub, ginger
Thorax: UV Ice Dub, tan

Very nice Hans. I think this would do well almost anywhere. Good to see you use some of that UV dubbing. It's great stuff.

Hi Hans,

Beautiful fly. Where did you get the pintail (barbs) and can I substitute it by teal? What was the way you made this hackle?

I don't see the Body Hackle in the picture???

Where did you get the pintail (barbs)
Picric dyed pintail feathers through Lawrence Finney (http://www.finneysflies.com/)
and can I substitute it by teal?
Teal barring is a bit 'heavy'. I would suggest you consider mallard flack feathers, dyed olive.
What was the way you made this hackle?
Barbs were tied in as the first material, tips over the eye. Complete remainder of fly, then fold back the pintail barbs and fix angle with a couple tight thread wraps.
I don't see the Body Hackle in the picture???
Look more closely 8-)
