My personal favorite fly.

Went out this evening and managed to pick up every fish on a dead drift followed by a swing. On this guy. God I love catching fish on the swing.
Hook: Mustad R50U: 12-14
Thread: Anything bright, heck I'm sure anything would be fine. I used Uni 8/0 Yellow for this guy.
Tail: Partridge
Body: Two Peacock herls
Rib(optional): Fine copper wire
Hackle: Partridge.

I realize I already posted a pattern similar to this, but I wanted to post a pic of it on a different hook. The last pic was on a short shanked hook.

He seemed to like it 8-)

I can certainly see how this is your favorite fly, especially when you get great results like that. It's just the right fly at the right time. I've been paying more attention to the peacock herl flies recently myself. Great post and a nice catch.

Wow, the markings on that trout are beautiful! I am glad you shared your favorite fly with us. I bet I will not be the only one tying copies of your pattern, in hopes of having similar success. Thank you! ;)

I have no doubt that fly is a sheer work horse for you. Beautiful fly, great results...what is not to like here? It has some of my favorite materials too. I would of thought you might use a wet fly, not a dry fly hook though. Guess you want it high in the column. I am gonna have to tie some exactly like that too. :D
