Ray, Howdy;

Why not send one for a swim and post a pic. :D

Thanks for the tip, Vern-O. I was just thinking about spring creek last night. One of these days you need to teach me how to fish a spring creek.

I went fishing on my local stream this morning, to give these flies a test swim. I was into fish on my second and third casts.

Too bad they were tiny fish. :D What they lacked in size, they made up for it with enthusiasm. BAM! They grabbed this fly without hesitation.

Hank - This photo is for you. Here is what a wet & well chewed scud bug looks like. Personally, I like it even better. Nice and buggy, don't ya think?

Chris - Your absolutely right about the yarn darkening up when it gets wet. I think the fly in this picture above is the same fly that I posted at the top of the first page (tyed with your Utah Yarn abdomen). The yarn takes on a nice tan color when it gets wet. Lovely stuff!

Speaking of bugs, I found this little guy hanging out on the side of the McDonalds when I stopped to pick up a coffee. I believe this is a "hexagenia limbata" may fly dun. I usually see these guys around the last week in June/first week in July, so they seem to be right on time.

Beautiful bug photos, Ray. And props on the scud bug performance.

I can show you what I know on a spring brook, but what I know does not cover all spring brooks.....did you add weight to the shank of the hook?
Also the wet and chewed photo is imho the seal the deal maker....perfecto
