Might be possible. You would have to thread it with a needle probably.

Any thread that is smaller in diameter than the tube you wish to place it inside and is not to "furry" and the inside of said tube is smooth, can be threaded by starting the thread in one end of the tube, placing the other end of the tube in your mouth and drawing a sharp intake of breath through the tube. You must leave slack thread off the reel for this to work, but it is how I thread most bobbin holders that do not have a ceramic bead at the end and are just straight tube.

William, the blending filament is a very thin tinsel like thread with a metallic look. I had some laying around that I purchased a while ago to play with. I was after a dubbed body where the core had a shimmer to it similar to what we are after with tinsel ribbing. I didn't want the ribbing only an internal flash. This is a fine tinsel with a very small core of thread. It doesn't stretch much. I waxed it a little to get the hare dubbing to apply and then formed a dubbing loop as you would with thread. I haven't tried but don't believe it would hold the twist well in the block. I haven't put it in a bobbin yet but I think it would work very well as a thread.

Carl, I meant to say so earlier, but thanks for the deets. This is similar to the Sulky Sliver Metallic thread that Bill and I have used to create spun bodies, but this is a much more natural effect and beautifully done. There is not enough time to tie all the great flies and use all the cool materials that are being presented. This one is exceptional.
