The no picture s/h
I'm calling my newest creation PSS. Pine squirrel and starling size 16 and 18 works great for our small winter stones. Just the under fur which is a dark slate color raked under fur is used with a smidgin of guard hair. It is a divinely effective fly.

Looks good to me.
18 is about the smallest I can go without hurting myself these days.

I like the way you finished off the head, I always tend to build too bulky of a head on these smaller hooks, unless I go down to #12-14 thread.
Nice job!

Ray, I got so excited in posting this terrific s/h that I forgot to mention what you are asking.letumgo wrote:Thanks Bob. This is just begging to by tyed. Do you have an preference for thread color, hook type or body shape?

Pearsall's Gossamer black silk
Hook Mustad 3906.
I should also mention I used natural colored starling and some bleached dyed ginger to bring out the highlights of the brown from the pine squirrel.
Jeff I used some great wax that I bought from someone on FAOL and it has very little bulk. That's why the head is so nice and neat.
I think if the carp were more active and I used a little weight to get it down to their level I think they would enjoy sucking this fly up.

So what your saying is Wayne, my flies look better as a "no picture" posting?
