Post by cicvara » Wed May 26, 2010 6:15 am

I do not know if it's okay to fly I put this here, it is a soft hackle, but the swim, hackle goes a little below the surface, and the body is over.. Do we throw up. Thank you.

-very simple fly, little foam, thread and a few feathers on the hook 16.

When I first started tying flies and was just learning, I had only a written recipe for a the partridge and orange spider. Of course, I thought "spider" and figured that is what it was to resemble. I can't even remember how I did it now but my version was only orange thread and a partridge soft hackle tied on top just like this one. I did not use foam, and made a post or something out of the hackle stem, I guessing, to wrap it on top. It caught lots of fish for me on the Oregon coastal streams when I was just starting out.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Ingenious design! Not what I pictured in my head, when I read the name "spider", but I like it. Looks like it deserves a place in my fly box in the near future. Thanks for sharing.

Dear Cicvara,
Wow! I really like it! As my kids say, "Radical Dude". It is quite different and I really like the design. Please keep up the good work friend! I can't wait to see more!
