Greeting all, this past year this Rainbow Warrier has been stellar fishing for Browns & Cutties up here in Alberta. Paired with a Leisenring Lift it's been deadly.

Often I have been exhausted on trout streams, uncomfortable, wet, cold, brier scarred, sunburned, mosquito bitten, but never, with a fly rod in my hand have I been in a place that was less than beautiful.

Thank you for sharing this Lornce. Haven't seen you around in a while, but I'm glad you are still checking in on this forum again.
Handsome fly. I could easily see this working on steelhead.

This one has a very nice profile for a swinging pattern and just the right amount of flash.
Would be a good submission to the Secret Santa Swap!

			Nice Fly!
It reminds me of a flashier version of Mallard spiders that I have fished since I was a kid.

Bill - Could you post a picture of the mallard spider you mentioned above? I’d like to see it.

			Ray,
Here is a Mallard Spider tied on a Mustad 9672 # 10...

My dad was not a flyfisher, with one exception. Occasionally he would borrow my rod and head out on the stream with the 3 streamers he carried in his spinning gear. He fished much larger versions of the Mallard Spider, Royal Coachman, and Muddler Minnow.
I also tie my spiders in larger sizes as well with natural, yellow and imitation wood duck Mallard feathers.

Thanks Bill. I’ve got some mallard flank feathers, which have been dyed a nice woodduck color (sub). These will work nicely on this pattern. Thanks for sharing.
