I did have a pic of them on my PC. Some what. Three of these patterns have a dark thorax near the collar. The original pattern, and my favorite is all Orange.
An easy an effective pattern, that I really enjoy swinging.

They do Bob. Probably not as well as a Partridge and Orange, but being a confidence pattern for me, they always go on my line first.
I also nymph with them. I am not saying anything about Trout Emergers (eggs) , but you never know.
I prefer to think dead scuds.

Great minds (well, yours at least) think alike. I tied these quite a few years ago on a whim. Had no idea what to call them.

I used to have pretty good success with simply piece of orange micro-chenille wrapped around a hook behind a bead head.

The band was originally on a high top, wide brimmed straw cowboy hat purchased in Burns, Oregon in the late 1970's a few days before I got the snake skin. It wore out just a few years ago.
I should resize the band to really fit this hat.
Or it might be easier to buy a new hat to fit the snake!

Roadkill... that awesome skin is worthy of a classic Stetson. It would look good on any hat however...
