Thankx FishHead.....i mean fishhead.....i'm not to much on formality myself.

Far as putting in time.....i spose it's all relitive. Definately not about the length of time, but the quality of time.....your focus, effort, dedication and intent. i'd say that fly took a total of (including all head coats), say 3 hours. Often i may take two days or even three (broken periods of time for whatever reason or set of reasons), to complete a fly. Size and length of hook, volume of different materials and their complexity in and of application (not to mention having to hunt them up sometimes lol), and over all intricatness of design. Also, since i'm almost always improvising.....once enough (pre-production) thought, has gone into an idea.....ya just never know how long a fly will take.....till you take the time.

Kinna like the condition my condition is in.
For me, every fly is a solo.....if you think compositionally.....you can take the viewpoint that each fly is a composition.....but i know my limitations.....and i've only tyed for 17 years.....and taking nothing for granted, when i got to the point where i felt confident enough to "go for it".....that is to say, take off on my own and find my own voice.....to a degree, i had to sacrifice certain things. So, since i'm not out to set the world on fire.....what i am doing.....is all any of us will really ever do, "make a little contribution." It has been said, that "you'll never be perfect.....all you'll ever do, is reach a certain degree of excellance."
Works for me.....so each fly is a solo....an expression of what is in your heart at the moment.....in "A Moments Notice."
Bright Moments.

The feathers blend harmoniously with the colors of the bead. Beautiful.
