I was just wondering.

Round here you have to go to 5 different fly shops for 5 different items. Oh and always call before you drive an hour to pick up something simple like a partridge or starling skin. It's probably easier to order online but I like to see the item first.

ALWAYS best to have it your hands before payin' for it...............whatever it might be............natural materials specially.....skins for sure. But some Muskrat dubbing is not somethin' you'd have to worry bout much..........less your after a very specific shade of coloring.............or you want it without gaurd hairs or whatever........

Wow. You step away for a couple hours and you miss a lot. Great tie. I haven't seen starling dyed like that. Nice use of materials and a beautiful fly. The last pic is my favorite. Good lord that is really nice.

Great looking flies, and thanks for reminding me that I have to call my local fly shop to see if my new bobbin has arrived yet. I've only been waiting two months or more.

Thanks William. I couldn't make up my mind which picture I liked best, which is why I over did it. I'm leaning towards the one with the piece of muskrat fur in it.

At least you HAVE 5 shops near by.... Closest I have is a Cabela's (almost exactly 100 miles). Still have to ge anothet 10 to 30 to find some REAL fly shops...

Yes, I am trying to support my local fly shop, but Hareline is not making it easy on either myself or the shop owner. Still, he is a good guy and I don't absolutely have to have the bobbin right away. I am going to check in with him today and see if there is any hope.

hank..............come and visit during the FFF Southern Council Conclave.....first weekend in Oct. .....we got fly shops..... and plenty of great places for you to park the trailor.....inexpensive state parks and such, with good facilities.....you can ("roll") cast right right out your doorway.

I actually contacted them through their Web site and they were the ones who told me to go to my local shop and have him order it from Hareline. Hareline apparently is the bottleneck. I'll give him another week or three - my back has been so bad lately I haven't been doing much tying anyway.
