The hook is a light wire dry fly hook, so the up eye makes sense, Donald. With the hen hackle and a dubbing like rabbit, it fishes nicely in the top 12 inches of the water column. I used a pale yellow rabbit dubbing mixed about 50/50 with tan rabbit dubbing. I didn't mix the colors well as I was hoping to get a variation in color. I've had to overhackle the flies a bit, but after a few fish, the hackles look sparser.
I put an SBS in to FAOL for their Fly of the Week segment, but it's probably at the bottom of the pecking order. Yes, I'm also a moderator and system admin over there.
Thanks for all the kind comments. Hopefully, if you have a good PMD hatch in your area this fly will prove to be as productive for you as it has been for me.

I dont have any Honey Dun Hackle, but I did a good job of duplicating by using one light Ginger Hen hackle, and one light Dun Hen hackle. Kinda like a brown/grizzly for the Adams dry fly. I got the dubbing about right thanks to your picture. I stayed with the 94840 hook in 16, as I have more confidence in the down eye. Yeah, its probably nothing, but confidence plays alot in a pattern with me.
I was going to fish tomorrow but plans changed. I will put the fly through the paces on Friday. Great tie REE!

Oh, no. I hope you didn't loose the pictures of your granddaughters's huge trout. Bummer.

Very sorry bout what happen Wayne. Good idea to have an address sticker (our rod tubes are plastered w/them), on those kinds of things. Most people will do the right thing.

Sounds like ya made it home ok.
Sorry to hear about the camera.
Just went and bought one myself.
Olympus X560 Red 10MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom.
$69.00 at Wally World price used to be nearer to $125 or higher... I'll get it when it gets to the store.
Don't much care for the bright red color.. but if I set it down it'll be easy to spot.
Give some take some (chuckle).

I have 15 of REE's PMD's sitting on my desk at the moment for a local fly swap. They are all a very very good little fly

Wow! I really like your pattern! Ask dear Bill S. of my love affair with the "Tan Flymph". Yours is excellent with the Wood Duck tail and copper ribbing.
I was very fortunate this past spring to have Bill S. purchase for me two of the most beautiful hen sets in creation. They were a real plus to my tying and fishing this great pattern with total confidence.
Ron,you have inspired me to break out the hen necks and tan dubbing and have at it! Indeed, summertime tying! As long as it stays cool! No air conditioning.
