Good to know--maybe I'll just keep board-checking my 90-year old neighbor at her mailbox for her 50% off Jo-Anne's coupons and stick with Ott.

Prolly a good choice.........i've had my Otts (3 of 'em) and my Daylights ( 2 of 'em & a better [$] buy), for quite a few years, and still have yet to have to change a bulb.

Thanks! I've got the clamp-on Ott right now...might go back that way even if the ballast fails.

Thanks for the link--that might be a little brighter than my 13W light...I need all the lumens I can get.

CB in reading the package of bulbs I have here 13W = about 60 W in the old style bulb. Maybe twenty or so years ago I could have tied with that sort of light but no longer. Did the light that Old Hat referenced mention what bulb it took? I'm currently tying with a 100 watt incandescent bulb for light. Maintaining that amount of light but with less heat would be nice.

Jerry-- I believe the specs say it's an 18W bulb...I'm liking the base too (vs. my current clamp) if only to make it easier to sell it to my wife as a dual use light suitable for her quilting.
