Fantastic flies Ruard.....they got SOUL.

That's twice today (Kelly) the Master painter Monet has been mentioned........one of my ALL-TIME! favorites. And for exactly the very reason you mentioned Mark..........what he could do with light was STUPID! Equalled perhaps.........but never been surpassed.

The next one: Quill bodied Coot
(4).QUILL BODIED COOT (JW).
Hook: 14
Hackle: Small spoon shaped feather from the lower row under a coot wing.
Body: A Iarge feather outside the coot wing, stripped and dyed in
yellow dye. This quill, when stripped shows white and dark inky
blue. When dyed the white shows yellow and the inky blue shows
green-oIive.
Use: This is the Medium Olive fly. Alternatively, a body may be made of
blue opossum fur dyed in a yellow dye to give a green-olive fur for
dubbing. Rib with fine gold wire. It then becomes of course a type of
hackled Greenwell, a very good killer in April and again in Autumn for
grayling.

Ruard,
Words cannot say how beautiful these flies are especially the last one the "Quill Bodied Coot". It is amazing what you can do with hook, fur, and feather! Thank you for these!
