great looking trout fly. That is one that would or should grace most fly boxes around these parts.

To me the fly is simply outstanding. This is the kind of fly that would be good for anyone to have in their box. It looks absolutely killer to me.

By the way the beautiful fly wallet you sent me made the trip to Roscoe this past weekend loaded with flies from various friends and my own ties. Everyone admired it-Especially Jim Slattery. I plan on continuing to use it for carrying my wingless wets for a long time to come.

Great fly. The hackle's coloration looks a lot like a hen pheasant I have been using. Might be easier to find than a snipe.

The big joke on Boy Scout camping trips in Oregon in the 1950s and 1960s was taking newbies on a nighttime "Snipe Hunt" with flashlights. I'm having as much trouble finding them now as I did then. And Carl's not divulging his source.
