Yeah I like the wallaby as well. Looks similar to a course squirrel dub. It has some very nice contrast and mottling to it in texture and color.

Carl, the wallaby has guardhairs similar to squirrel or hare, maybe a little finer, but much longer. The underfur is really fine as well like muskrat, but longer. It worked great cutting the top half of the fur away from the hide, leaving the lower portion. The blend with the longer fibers would definetly have it's uses as well. It's cool stuff.

Dub-ya, Howdy;
You've been crankin' out some truly beautiful flys lately.
I've been very remiss in posting my notice of them...
You do tye some of the best lookin' fish attracters that I see..
Some that get posted on here are more of the eye-candy varity.
Nothing wrong with them... Beautiful to look at and marvel at the
dexterity and fastididiousness (sp?), required to put them togather
especially under the 'sproots & sprouts let it all hang out' eye of a
Macro or Super-Macro lens.
Thanks for keeping it 'real' ...

Roadkill, heck of a fly. Great to see some of these materials going to good use.

. I just hope they end up taking fish for you all as well.
The rib (although not that clear in the photo) probably compliments the tips of the Mallard hackle quite well in colour. Nice looking tie all around.

Rk, this is a fantastic use of the wallaby. The size of this works very well with the scale of the material and you've certainly paired it well with that hackle. Gorgeous combination.
Hank, I'm glad you find em fishy.

Gig, I thought I commented on this but it's not here. I like the quality of the wallaby here. It goes to show the various textures you can get with the material. This is a good looking fly. I need to tie some using the guard hair as tails too. Do you use wallaby flies often?
