Lance - I am positive your father would have loved this fly, on many many levels. As do I. I love watching as you master each new style. Superb job on the fly and the photography. You should consider including this fly in your book, or making prints to sell at tying shows.

Speaking of tribes and Pow Wow's, I grew up in a small town in southeastern Ohio called Powhatan Point. Chief Powhatan used that area for a summer retreat if history serves me well! In recent years, there have been authentic Pow Wows with real Native Americans doing the dances and songs of long ago. It is really quite impressive. I am sure The Great Chief is once again happy that the sounds and sights of the culture he was most familiar with are being preserved! All of this takes place on the banks of the mighty Captina Creek. My Captina Creek. The one I grew up on!
I read your post with great interest and the wonderful description of that water! It immediately reminded me of the water I am most familiar with. It was refreshing to read your prose!

Ray, my Dad would be so glad just to know that I am tying, he probably would care what they look like. I know that he was getting a little more experimental in his later years, with shaggier dubbings and wide mylar tinsel for example.
Doug, thanks for telling us a little about your home water, and the Native Americans. Capitina. What a beautiful name. Have you named a fly after it?
