Thanks to all who have commented. The hook is a vintage (no longer being made) model of which william has been good enough to send to me some. Both the up-eye and the barb are much oversized by today's standards. The dubbing brush was made on a Clark block using a blend of pink wools captured in waxed Pearsall's Gossamer #14 claret thread. I will see today if I can get a decent photo of this fly underwater.

Excellent subsurface photo, Bill. I'm half expecting to see a trout lurking in the background.

That's very cool--I'd bet that would fish well in the next few months (just as Royal Coachmen are known as "winter" flies) and you could pick it back up in Spring as a Hendrickson.)
