So true, each deserves it's place in any self respecting fly box. :D Wonderful work Lance and thank you for setting aside Saturday night for time at the vice and sharing with us, in what is a fairly hectic time of the year for you.

I turn my back for a couple hours, and presto, all this good commentary. Thank you so much. I'm trying not to feel too guilty about not spending more time on the other fabulous threads going on elsewhere, but it's not easy. I promise that after next week I'll be back more.

That first fly on the enormous #6 Grip hook was my favorite too, inspired by a steelhead flymph that Old Hat showed me. Fun to go big once in a while. Thanks again for the encouragement. Back to work now.

I really like them all, but the first one is a real cracker.

gingerdun, Howdy;

Terriffic set of Saturday nighters. Can't choose one over the other,
they all just seem to be on the money each in their own way....

As an umpire was once heard to say, when the call was 3 Balls and 2
Strikes (a full count for our non Baseball members), bottom of the ninth
inning (last for regular play), Pithcer (bowler), zings one in on the lower
outside corner of the strike zone, Umpire shouts "2 !!!", The catcher (somethig
akin to a whicket keeper), and the batter turn to the Umpire and inquire,
2 what ?????

Umpire replies "2 Dang close to call !!!!!"

Lance, I love this series too. When you decide to tie...you really do a great job. I like these hare patterns a lot, and especially appreciate the experimenting.

You can imagine I'm very much looking forward to representing the Flymph Nation this weekend. It really should be a fun time, no matter than my nerves have already started causing some discomfort. :| There are some seriously talented tiers on the bill and I am not kidding myself in the least to compare myself to their skills. I'll just stick with what I know and try to relate the joy of tying and fishing these flies. If there are any of you able to make it out...it would sure be nice to look up and see a familiar face (or name).
