What a terrific pattern! I'm a sucker for quill bodies whether actual stripped quills, peccary, etc. The combination of pheasant, quill body, cdc and grouse make use of triggers that are individually spectacular let alone used as a group. The color combinations work well and conjure up that used and abused cliché, "buggy". Nicely done and soon to be fished in the streams of the Catskills by yours truly :) .

Best,
BruceC

The compliments are much appreciated guys. The quills were hand-stripped, Wayne. And, Hans, your observation has had the effect of altering the way I tie in tailing fibers;
hopefully this will minimize future non-centered results.

Bill - I'm sure your standards are too high to want to fish the flies with the off-center tails. You should send them to me and I will "destroy" them properly. :twisted:

(destroying them properly requires tying them at the end of my line, flogging them back and forth repeatedly to loosten the materials, dunking them repeatedly in water exposing them to rocks, vegetation and creatures with sharp teeth.... It is a time consuming process (hopefullly for hours at a time), but I am willing to do it for you out of friendship. ;) :D

Chuckle! It's really good to know that there folks like you, Ray, who are willing to make such "sacrifices".
