DUBBN, Howdy;
Wayne, sorry to hear you are having problems from the dentist visits
and having to burn-up vacation days in the process. Heck, go fishin' ...
Good result from trying to get your brain refocused though...

Get better soon so we can drool over some more pic's.

I really liked that Little Blue fly. I have enjoyed watching your progress lately. Sorry to hear about the dry socket problem. I don't want to relive my wisdom teeth pulling time. It was not a good experience, to put it mildly. I have a good dentist now, much better than the old navy dentists...rotfllll. (that is who pulled my wisdom teeth by the way)

Thanks Kelly. I appreciate it. It's amazing what a little flash and Partridge will do for my skill level...

Wayne,
Briefly checking in after a long day, and got a huge kick out of seeing the kind of lively conversation you got going here.
As for blue, I was just reading about it. Roadkill put me on to Charles Meck's book Fishing Tandem Flies, in which he makes a huge deal about the Blueberry—a Glo Bug dyed with Rit evening blue.
Really sorry to hear about the dry sockets, and percocet. You put your time to good use, and got us all talking to each other.

Lance, how ironic. The last trou I caught on a Blue pattern was a glo-bug tied with Blue yarn. I am guessing it was over 5 years ago.
Good news is, the packing gets pulled out tomorrow morning. If i am cured, I am floating Saturday!

If the dentist gives you the right kind of gas, you could be floating tomorrow!
Good luck with the procedure.

I like blue. In fact I just finished tying some blue nymphs. I have also for a number if years now tied the Atherton nymph that uses a blue wing case. Also there is a small blue dry fly, similar to a X-caddis that works very well on many Oregon waters.

I believe you. Really I do. Like Purple, Blue has a curse on me. There are buddies of mine that swear by a Blue Copper John, and the Deep Blue Poison Tung. They do very well with these patterns. I am the one that can't make that color work.

I am still messing around with Blue and over size hackle. The hackle on this pattern is Wood duck flank. I used Hans's method of tieng the barbs out over the eye, then pushing them back towards the bend and securing them.
Hook - Mustad 94842, size 14
Thread- Sheer 14/0 Gray
Tail - Lemon Wood Duck
Abdomen - Blue Mylar
Thorax - Underfur from Cottontail rabbit
Collar - Wood Duck Flank
