Again, thanks for the kind words folks. I do like the wire core technique. It has performed well for me the oast couple of years.

Ray, for this pattern the tubing is HareLine Midge tubing, with a UTC, Black wire (Small) core.

I can get the wire in to about a foot of tubing now. I run the wire over wax, then slightly lubricate the tubing. Sucking a minute amount of light oil (sewing machine) in to the tubing like a straw. Or just a little spit.

Thanks Wayne. I will try to pick some up materials in Roscoe next week. The little straw technique is a great tip. I remember having a difficult time inserting the wire, the last time I tried.

I would have thought that wax would make the wire harder to insert -- it is after all, sticky. How does it compare to without? Or is there another reason for the wax?

I caught the tip about the wax on another forum. Where I see folks being able to feed the wire a few inches into the tubing, I can get a foot with little effort. I have not performed a head to head test, with or with out the wax, just how I have done it. Perhaps I can get the wire two feet in if I leave the wax out of the equation. I may never know.
