Thanks again, everyone. I don't mean to prolong this thread any longer, but Wayne's fly inspired me to try one myself. I can see where the chopped dubbing is a better material for a scud. I tied this using the yarn, ribbed the fly and then tried to scrub out the bottom for buggy legs. It looked good until I just looked at Wayne's fly again and the buggier the better wins out. This at least shows the color of the yarn when wet. It's actually a little lighter in water, taking the fly out of the water, it just isn't the same. Anyway.

dub-ya, Howdy;

Wayne used a proper scud hook, looks to be an extra stout/heavy model
should/would make a difference in abilities to act like a submarine ...

Nice scud's William. The wet one looks juicy enough to eat alright!
The just need a subtle addition to the dubbing mix....... like tan Gerbil? :shock:
